Orange Lips Spring/Summer 2014 Trend: Hot or Not?

HOT OR NOT?

I have been on the fence for this trend for spring/summer 2014 for a while now and still am on it. We have seen the spring/summer trend on the runways earlier this year and at the end of last year (last fall) when the seasons trends showed and this is apart of one of the largest trends for spring bright lips. 

When award season came we saw a lot of celebrities rocking this trend whether it be on the red carpet or not. It seems like this trend has grown to be a massive trend.

Celebrity looks promoting this choice of lip colour for the upcoming summer to live out the orange lip.

Who I find inspiration for sporting the orange lip?

I personally love these on our celebrity bloggers and gurus Lauren Conrad and Zoella.

Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad sports this light bright orange and she rocks it. I love her blog and find a lot of inspiration with her makeup as I think she always looks incredible and has wears amazing makeup looks and because I find inspiration from her makeup I think if she rocks the orange lip, I would love to try to rock it too.

I love Zoella's lipstick obsession with orange and reds as I think they suit her so well, the ones she wears of course, this first picture is an example of Zoella's more nude orange lip that is sort of a pinky orange as it is a little lighter and feels as though the colour between an tangerine and grapefruit colour, and then muted so it creates the light look. Zoella is definitely one of my orange lip icons, as every time I see this orang lip on her I fall in love with these light orange lip colours....

or even when it's brighter I love the look of the more fiery orange lip on her and feel the urge to try it out.

It's safe to say I will be trying a lot of orange this summer and I think this is the best time after seeing so many of my favourites celebrities wearing it, and since it is also a spring/summer 2014 trend.

So is this a HOT or NOT for me?

I think a HOT when worn the right way depending on your skin tone and what undertone the orange lipstick has. And of course NOT if worn in a unflattering way.
